Mother's Deadly Mistake Ends in Tragedy

A woman from Alexandria, whose identity remains undisclosed, allegedly attempted to poison her late sister’s child for financial gain but tragically ended up killing her own child instead.

Sources say the woman, who cares for both her children and her late sister’s children, was in severe debt and sought to collect donation money from the community. In an attempt to do so, she reportedly laced a meal with poison, intending for her sister’s child to consume it.

However, on that fateful day, the targeted child returned home later than usual, while the woman’s own child, a Grade R learner with a bright future ahead, arrived early and unknowingly ate the poisoned meal. When the mother returned home, she found her child dead.

This was not the first time the woman allegedly deceived her community. Previously, she falsely claimed her boyfriend had died to solicit donations, but the truth was later exposed when a donor contacted his mother. The community confronted her and reclaimed their money.

It remains unclear whether the family has reported the incident to the authorities or chosen to handle it privately. The tragic loss of an innocent child has left the community in shock, raising concerns about desperation-driven crimes.
