Nigerian Suspect Arrested in Drug Bust
A 47-year-old Nigerian national has been arrested in Valencia, Nelspruit, after police uncovered a substantial quantity of drugs during an early-morning raid on Thursday.
The operation, conducted at around 05:00 on 4 December 2025, involved members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unitâs Narcotics team, the White River K-9 Unit, the Tactical Response Team (TRT) and the Anti-Gang Unit. Officers acted on intelligence that led them to a house where a search was carried out.
During the search, police seized approximately 1.27 kilograms of suspected crystal meth, 1.86 kilograms of suspected cocaine and an estimated R28 000 in cash. The suspect was subsequently charged with dealing in drugs.
He is expected to appear before the Nelspruit Magistrateâs Court on Friday, 5 December 2025.
